Hello,
My name is Damian Cavasos I am the Designer and Builder of Mainline Bridges. I was born on December 4, 1978 in Aurora Colorado. Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with trains, modeling and the small scale engineering behind building model railroads. It wasn’t until the creation Pleasant Valley Scenic Railroad that I turned my fascination and hobby into a dream.
When I received the opportunity in 2005 to design and build a garden railroad for my father I got a chance to incorporate some of my other skills with large scale trains. Construction, remodeling, and metal fabricating helped me find that building garden railroads is a lot of fun. All of our neighbors, friends, and family got the chance to show their interest in our project and offer their assistance and ideas. Pleasant Valley Scenic Railroad was up and running in 2008.
The construction Pleasant Valley Scenic Railroad at times proved to be a bit challenging. My father and I wanted to create something with mystery and excitement. We thought that if we incorporated bridges in the layout that it would draw attention to the beautiful hills and mountains that we created. The problem was that we could only find a few bridges for sale. That’s when I really got the chance and idea to show off my skills. With the help of my Uncle Gene’s old welder, and the support of a great family friend, I created my first custom Round End Girder Bridge.
This first Girder Bridge was my inspiration to start Mainline Bridges. I knew that I could create any style and any size bridge I could think of. Mainline Bridges is much more than a store to shop for bridges. I will work with you to create a custom piece that is a one of a kind original that will fit you dream design layout perfectly.
I enjoy the realism of this hobby. It is what I work towards to create the most realistic, to scale bridges. I feel that when you add any kind of bridges and mountains in a layout it presents stunning engineering marvels. The bridges, tunnels, and curves that you add to your railroad give a sense of mystery to the design of the railroad. On a small scale they prove to be very impressive. By adding any of these features to your railroad you will create so much amazement and awe.
There never really is an end to building a layout. Laying the track is only the beginning. You will always be able to find ways to evolve your design or change your theme all together.
Never stop dreaming!
Thank you for your time.
