Hi, I'm Damian and I’ve always loved trains and really enjoy the modeling and building side of the train fascination.
I started building steel bridges when I was trying to recover from a motorcycle injury that took my right shoulder and arm away and left me feeling hopeless at 27years old.
My father an I have always wanted to build a layout together and during this time of personal limitation; I started working on an outdoor G scale railroad and found through circumstance that I had a talent for building steel bridges of all different types and designs.
The only competition I would face in the market was out west so I wasn’t to worried but new I needed to create a line of models that stood out. I stayed up long nights designing methods and looks that would enable me to create models that museums, film, and detailed collectors would appreciate and use.
Mainlinebridges was created around the same time I found out I was going to be a father in 2008.
I think knowing I was going to be a father gave me the drive to figure out how to build a website, build an ebay store, design bridges, and create methods to construct these models efficiently while making them affordable.
The first years were very intense and overwhelming with new steel discoveries and ways to weld, types of steel and fabrication techniques required.
Taking care of a my young family; going to shows, marketing mainlinebridges and building custom layouts for people was incredibly tough, especially at first; I had no past resume to show my abilities so I had to prove myself every time.
It’s 2019 and it’s been 10 years of work on Mainlinebridges, lots of custom models created and I’m proud to list some of the most amazing opportunities bellow.

2010 Cascade Trestle
An amazing large scale railroader ordered some bridge piers from me on Ebay and became my first museum detailed collector before I was even really going.
The same collector received a 15ft Devil's Gate model
I was given the opportunity to learn about and build a model of the famous Salisbury Viaduct
2010 Rocking Horse Ranch RHC
This was a great opportunity for me and it paved the way for several other bridge designs.
I had the job of building the wooden trestle and the steel section around the gift shop.
2010-2011 The White House National Christmas Tree
I was asked to design and construct the steel structures, bridges and trestles spanning approximately 150ft around the base of the NCT in front of the White House.
I was invited to sit in with a select few that joined the president and his family for the national tree lighting ceremony.
